Solana NFT holders will soon have a new option for trading venues as OpenSea announces its integration to the Solana blockchain.
OpenSea's Twitter account shared a 16-second video that begins with typing "wen solana??" into a search box and revealed that Solana will be supported by the marketplace in April.
Rumors of OpenSea supporting Solana NFTs have been circulating for months. Security researcher Jane Manchun Wong was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for her technical breaking skills. In January, she shared images on Twitter that she said came from the OpenSea platform.
The image shows that the marketplace’s “blockchains filter” lists Solana as an option, with the Phantom Solana crypto wallet appearing in the list of supported wallets.
OpenSea responded to Wong's tweet with a "big-eyed" emoji at the time, but did not directly confirm or deny the truth of the claim.
A number of popular Solana NFT projects have already announced their intention to list on OpenSea in April, including SolPunks, Turtles, Remnants, and Degenerate Ape Academy.
The Solana integration will put OpenSea in direct competition with Magic Eden, Solanart and Solsea, the leading NFT marketplaces currently on the Solana blockchain.
Mistake or hack? Bored Ape NFT for $140
An OpenSea user named "cchan" sold a Bored Ape NFT and a Mutant Ape NFT for a combined $140.
A user made an offer for both NFTs, "cchan" accepted and sold them within a minute on Monday, March 28th, with BAYC #835 for 115 DAI, MAYC #11670 Selling for 25 DAI, which is 99% lower than the current floor price.
It is unclear whether “cchan” mistook the offer for DAI, a dollar stablecoin with a diamond logo, which would be equivalent to $470,000 in ethereum, or if the sale was the result of a hack.
Activity from users who purchased the two NFTs shows that there is a history of quotes in DAI on the Bored and Mutant Ape NFTs, which some believe may be someone hoping for this to happen.
