1) "What kind of community do we need in the Web3 era?" "
DAO, Web3, NFT, each concept is inseparable from the community, and the culture and value of the community determine the vitality of the project.
In my impression, the Jay Bear community is the one with the highest quality, which is generally very kind and has a lot of capable people; the X2Y2 community is the best in implementing the concept of co-construction and sharing Web3, and the official does not even need to intervene too much, etc.
What is a good community? How to achieve mutual achievement with community members?
2) A community is a collection of people. The definition of the community itself is very broad, but in the currency circle, it is nothing more than three categories: relying on projects, NFT, relying on KOL, and relying on a certain culture.
Those who rely on currency projects are closely connected with project development, and their personal presence is not strong.
Relying on NFT, the respective behaviors of community members will obviously affect the development of NFT, and vice versa.
Relying on KOL depends on its personal charm and ability.
Relying on a certain culture, like Post Bar.
3) Community development will eventually have a strong chemical reaction with DAO.
DAO is a decentralized organizational form, and community members use tokens to govern, build together, and share rights and interests, which naturally forms a better community.
But its problems are also extremely prominent: low efficiency, scattered decision-making, and most DAOs develop "a mess of sand" because of poor organization or no organization.
I have been thinking, how to improve the efficiency of DAO?
4) Back to the topic, what is a good community in the Web3 era? See if a few indicators are good.
One is the sense of participation. Can community members benefit from the community as participants? As a builder, can they be distributed according to work?
The second is a sense of accomplishment. Can the cultural attributes and internal atmosphere of the community itself give people a sense of identity?
The third is the sense of gain. People who come to the currency circle are all here to make money, how to make community members have a better harvest?
5) The fourth is the sense of belonging. There are so many communities, what is special about yours, and how to create emotional stickiness?
The current disadvantages of various mainstream communities mainly include:
First, it is difficult to establish a community co-construction and sharing mechanism, which is mainly promoted by the project party or a small number of enthusiastic backbones, and the incentive mechanism of distribution according to work has not been formed.
The second is that the power of the group has not been exerted. Some projects have their advantages in being led by individual elites and KOLs, but the power of groups has not been brought into play.
6) The third is that the interest mechanism is not effectively connected. For example, an NFT project party establishes a community, which is more to provide a place for two parties to communicate and transmit information; a community established spontaneously by DAO stays at the point of discussing currency prices with each other.
Is this still the case for future communities? From the WeChat group, the Telegram group, to the DC group, the content of the discussion is still the same, and everyone’s sense of participation, sense of gain, and satisfaction is still the same?
This is not good form.
7) An ideal community should have the following characteristics:
One is the sense of participation. Taking DAO as the organizational form, without relying on any one person, can form a very organic economic and working model, everyone can find what they can do in it, and get corresponding rewards, and what everyone does depends on Can help the growth of DAO.
Contributors and builders are jointly encouraged and supported by community members. This DAO is my home, and the construction depends on everyone? ✍️
8) The second is high efficiency. DAO is inefficient, and group decision-making is sometimes blind. How to improve the efficiency of DAO? How does the elite group contribute to the DAO, and how does the DAO motivate the elite group?
Solving this problem solves the problem of efficiency.
The third is the sense of gain. In a fair, just, and open manner, the strength of each DAO member is brought into play, and a good economic model is designed so that DAO can continue to give full play to its vitality and feedback to members.
9) In the first quarter, the market was very bearish, but institutional financing hit a new high.
But at the heart of Web3 are people, not institutions. A strong community is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Whether the "rabble" can exert great power depends on whether there is a good mechanism.
At present, a large number of talents from Web2 are frantically pouring into Web3, but it is not a good choice to jump from one company to another.
Good people should and will work on Web3 for themselves.
10) The fourth is the sense of accomplishment. The community is the most powerful organizational situation in the future, and a strong community can even surpass the most powerful company, that is, the power of DAO will be beyond imagination.
The core of DAO is to have capable people, be profitable, and have a good distribution and development mechanism—Singapore, a tiny place, has achieved great development by optimizing the business environment and respecting technological innovation. This is a successful DAO in real life , everyone in Singapore benefits.
11) The above thinking actually comes from part of my own long-term thinking and planning for the future. Garbage projects are like the Qing Dynasty, why do we have to hold our noses to participate? There are endless unscrupulous projects, why do we still have illusions?
Can we try to participate and decide our own future for ourselves? I want to do such an experiment. The first step of this experiment is to try to build an efficient community.
12) The community has no threshold,
However, different feedback mechanisms will be continuously awarded according to the degree of participation, contribution, ability level, and enthusiasm. After a long period of time, community members will improve their cognition, investment, and entertainment.
More importantly, try to establish a sound management system, so that the elites in the community can have an important role to play, and those who are capable will have positions.
We have already reached the first step.
13) The telegram group has been established, like a lively square, where people gather at will. However, 90% of the community function Telegram cannot be realized. DC is in preparation and is being tested by professional managers, and will be opened later.
All kinds of capable people and ordinary people can join the telegram group first.
Slow is fast. We're not in a rush, I'm going to try to make the first step happen - to grow and energize the community.
