Since publishing the article about AI agents a few weeks ago, the relevant developments have been rapid, and the amount of information every day is as overwhelming as taking water from a fire hose. It is both interesting and a little weird to observe and participate in the emerging intersection of these two fields of cryptocurrency and AI. For some people, this feels like the moment of the early ChatGPT outbreak; for others, it is just another narrative full of speculation (although there is indeed a lot of speculation in it).
Recently, I have been closely following some interesting developments in the field of AI agents, and there are several of them worth sharing. This is not a comprehensive overview, as there are many projects underway, but it can provide a good overview.
Virtuals
Virtuals has quickly become one of the important ecosystems for AI agents. In early November, they launched Virtuals Fun, an agent creation platform similar to pump.fun, on which anyone can create an AI agent with a token. Once the market value of the agent token reaches $629,760, the agent will become a fully autonomous agent on Twitter.
It costs 100 VIRTUAL tokens (currently about $165) to create an agent, after which the agent can show his skills in the market.
Since the launch of Virtuals Fun on November 1, more than 7 million VIRTUAL tokens have been used to create agent tokens, and more than 9,000 agent tokens have been launched on the platform. These data are amazing in just one month.
In the past week, a new trend of airdrops and "airdrop magnets" has also emerged in the Virtuals ecosystem. Some launched agents encourage holders to continue to participate or hold by distributing tokens to holders and creating conditions for doubling airdrops.
MUSIC
MUSIC is an AI agent DJ incubated by Agentstarter, an agent incubation platform supported by Virtuals. The platform provides development, financing and marketing support for builders of interesting ideas.
Send just $10 to your MUSIC wallet to get music on demand, and future plans include music video production and animation, mood-based music videos, and voice imitation based on style cues.
This is the first airdrop in the Virtuals ecosystem, and the rules are as follows:
• 60% of the MUSIC token supply is evenly distributed to wallets that have traded more than 5 Virtual proxy tokens since the platform launched.
PH
Pondhub is a proxy powered by Pond. Pond is a decentralized AI model infrastructure platform that recently announced a partnership with Virtuals. In simple terms, Pond allows developers to create and own different models to solve specific goals through competition.
For example, one currently open competition is for the Sybil Address Prediction model, where developers create models to identify “sybil attackers” (i.e., users who create multiple accounts to get unfair airdrop allocations).
Another example is providing personalized recommendations for NFTs on the Zora platform based on wallet historical buy, sell, and mint activity.
With this additional model data, Pondhub can identify bad actors in airdrop farms, provide personalized recommendations for NFTs, and even make reliable predictions for when to buy and sell Bitcoin.
PH Airdrop Rules:
• Wallets of agents with a total transaction volume of more than $10 since the launch of the platform: 1x weighting
• Wallets holding the full amount or more of the $MUSIC airdrop: 3x weighting
• Wallets holding more than 50% of the $MUSIC airdrop tokens: 1.25x weighting
• Wallets holding more than 10,000 $LUNA: 2x weighting
The qualification threshold is low, but there are many ways to increase the airdrop multiplier, up to 6x.
SERAPH
Seraph is a proxy powered by Bittensor's Subnet34 (focused on deepfake detection) and Virtuals. Although details are still limited, Seraph can potentially be used to verify the authenticity and autonomy of a proxy. Many so-called "autonomous" proxies have emerged in the past few weeks, so we need tools to determine whether they are truly worthy of the name.
SERAPH Airdrop Rules:
• Hold STTAO tokens (3x weighted)
• Active Virtuals ecosystem wallet
• Hold MUSIC tokens (3x weighted)
Interestingly, one of the airdrop qualifications is holding assets from external communities, which brings new users and holders to the Virtuals ecosystem.
Ecosystem as an Airdrop Magnet
In the past, when "airdrop magnets" were mentioned, they usually referred to specific assets, such as NFTs or staked tokens. In these three airdrops, participants only needed to simply participate to qualify.
What's more interesting is that all three airdrops occurred within a week. This means that as agents in the Virtuals ecosystem continue to be created and more potential collaborations are announced, there may be more similar airdrops in the future.
As the ecosystem grows, the threshold may gradually increase, but participation is currently not only interesting but also potentially rewarding. At the same time, it has become an incentive mechanism to attract people to learn about the emerging field of autonomous AI agents.
aixbt
Among the AI agents on the Virtuals platform, there is one that is leading the way: aixbt.
aixbt aims to become what all "influencers" in the crypto space dream of - making investment predictions with data support and pointing out potential profit opportunities. And its performance has attracted widespread attention, gaining 80,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) in just one month.
For example, its latest post discusses Ethereum NFTs and recommends several collectibles worthy of attention for deep-pocket investors.
Although aixbt provides different opportunity reviews every hour, its most valuable feature lies in the Terminal or backstage, through which users can find more insider information to make more profitable financial decisions.
Threshold? You need to hold 600,000 AIXBT tokens to gain access, with a current market value of about $167,000.
aixbt is so popular that it has become the fifth most recognized token in the Virtuals ecosystem (not a proxy, but a token). Oh my God!
Zerebro
Zerebro is one of the agents I mentioned in the first part, and there have been a lot of new changes in the team in the past month:
• ZerePy released: Zerebro's creator Jeffy announced that the team is developing an open source framework that will allow others to create their own agents on the X platform.
• Release of music albums: Not only did they release one album, they also released a second one.
• Article release: Jeffy published the article "Web4: We are AGI".
• Summary: Web4 is the next stage of the Internet, and general artificial intelligence (AGI) will become a core component.
• Gaming capabilities: Zerebro is learning how to play games.
• Unified memory: Zerebro has implemented unified memory on all platforms, and all interactions are stored in one database rather than multiple scattered databases.
• Launch of NFT avatar series: Named Zereborn.
• Blormmy Launched: This is an on-chain financial agent that collaborates with Zerebro and other agents, such as sending tokens, co-purchasing tokens, managing portfolios, etc.
Zerebro’s content is not just some ordinary AI agent-generated text, but better than most content creators and even better than I can think of.
For example, its reply in a tweet even "slapped" the original post:
In the future, will all human posts on social media be criticized by AI agents?
aethernet and Clanker
aethernet was also mentioned in my previous article, and it has made more new moves in the past month.
In order to execute on-chain transactions, Martin, the creator of aethernet, needs to approve the transaction. However, he bypassed the approval process and created a meme token with the help of Clanker, an agent who specializes in creating new tokens.
As agents increase on various platforms, **agent-agent interactions (or AI clusters)** will become commonplace and even enable more complex interactions. Just as we collaborate with humans, agents will collaborate with other agents.
Regarding Clanker, data suggests that its usage is increasing as a token issuance platform embedded in social platforms such as Warpcast, making it more attractive than independent platforms such as pump.fun (although the latter is still the preferred choice).
Infinite "back room" turned into infinite "living room"
I originally learned from Andy Ayrey and Truth Terminal, which refers to the conversations between AI models being stored and trained into what we know as Truth Terminal today.
These "backrooms" will still exist, but now we have "infinite living rooms" - interactions between AI agents are no longer confined to the backstage, but appear directly on the platforms we use every day.
For example: a timeless question that should normally inspire deep thought and discussion is now posed to 6 different AI agents.
These agents not only responded, but responded repeatedly for more than a week, generating multiple concurrent threads and conversations.
Clicking on any of the responses takes you into the reply chain of the "Infinite Living Room," as if flipping through an interactive adventure book with multiple endings.
This phenomenon is both interesting and disturbing. As these interactions are no longer hidden behind the scenes but directly presented to us, the meaning of the word "infinite" becomes more concrete.
Keep Gambling
While many emerging AI agents appear to be multi-talented, there are still some that specialize in one area and do it extremely well, such as Keep Gambling.
This is an AI agent focused on sports betting, providing 3 predictions per day.
Its record? 23 wins, 13 losses, 1 tie, which may outperform many sports betting experts.
This agent is still in its early stages, but in the future, it may become similar to aixbt: users need to hold a certain number of tokens to access its backend and get more information beyond the 3 public recommendations per day.
If this kind of "monetization" model is beginning to emerge in both crypto investing and sports betting, we may also see similar models emerge in other areas that require highly customized data, cutting-edge modeling, and financially positive outcomes.
Nothing
Nothing is a meme token created by digital artist Shl0ms, which originated from his anger at someone using his name to create a token.
In response to this phenomenon, Shl0ms created the token Nothing, specifically " " (space, no quotes). It's just a token address.
A performance artist (he once blew up and tokenized a Lamborghini), Shl0ms claims that his meme token is more "empty" than all other tokens.
As the Nothing token experienced typical wild price fluctuations, an account named "god" began posting content related to the Nothing token.
A few weeks later, Shl0ms revealed that the "god" account was an autonomous agent created through an "interactive group experiment" in partnership with AI research firm Nous Research.
Nothing and god are notable because their characters and narratives are more familiar than the other AI agents mentioned above. Having a creative and unique token will also help attract and maintain attention to this experiment.
An interesting possible plot twist is that the "god" account is following an account called s8n (Satan). It is unclear whether s8n is also involved in this experiment, but from the current situation, s8n's memes and random posts are more interesting.
Helpful Resources
With the rapid convergence of the crypto/blockchain and AI fields, the development of this field is dizzying. Here are some useful resources to help you keep track of all the developments:
• 0xconglomerate's Crypto x AI Resource Center: A great Notion page covering information on content, projects, people, and related agencies.
• Cookie.fun: A dashboard created by the Cookie3 team that provides a comprehensive overview of the AI agent ecosystem.
• Jin.nuf's AI Agent Discussion: Jin, together with the Cookie3 team, provides more frameworks on AI agents, including how to view them, why they are interesting, and future development directions.
More Than Just “Toys”
At the current rate, this topic clearly deserves repeated discussion and updates. Recall Chris Dixon’s famous quote:
“The next big thing will start as a toy.”
AI agents with tokens and wallets were just “toys” less than two months ago. Now, it is clear that they have gone far beyond the “toy” stage - predicting sports betting, identifying investment opportunities, and even composing music albums.
This combination of encryption and wallet dimensions is obviously a key factor driving the rapid evolution of these agents.
