Recently, Clanker has been very popular, not only focusing the market's attention on the Base ecosystem, but also making AI Agents the next wave of main narrative in the eyes of analysts.
Clanker's popularity has also attracted a lot of attention from Farcaster again, and the founder of the protocol, Dan Romero, has even said that he wants to create 100 Clanker opportunities. At the same time, a number of popular meme coins have been spawned by Clanker, and their market value continues to rise.
Many people regard Clanker as a social version of Pump.fun, and with the AI Agents narrative, it seems that this product will become the next wealth code. So what exactly is Clanker? Can ordinary users participate in the issuance of coins? What are some other popular meme projects related to AI Agents in the Base ecosystem that are worth paying attention to?
1. How to play Clanker?
In short, Clanker is an AI program that can help users launch tokens. Users only need to @Clanker on Farcaster clients such as Warpcast or Supercast, and then write the token requirements to be deployed, and it will start the token for the user on Base.
The application was developed by Jack Dishman, a full-stack engineer at Farcaster, and @proxystudio.eth, the founder of Farcaster ecosystem research and development. According to the founder of Farcaster, Clanker is based on the Large Language Model (LLM), which can detect the user's content and can also support pictures and other functions, taking advantage of the distribution advantages of Warpcast.
In the latest official document of @proxystudio.eth, Clanker has made new additions and explanations.
Clanker is an autonomous agent that deploys tokens. Currently, users can request Clanker to deploy ERC-20 tokens on Base by marking @Clanker on Farcaster.
Currently the only requirement to use Clanker is to have a Farcaster account with a good Neynar user rating. Neynar user ratings are generated based on the user's behavior on the platform, ranging from 0 to 1, and can be earned by interacting with high-quality users.
Each Farcaster account can request Clanker to deploy one token per day. When deploying a token, the user needs to tag Clanker (@clanker) in a broadcast on Farcaster and provide the token name, token code, and optional image/gif in the body of the broadcast.
Clanker will respond to the user's request in three scenarios:
1. After a successful deployment, Clanker will respond with a link to its website clanker.world, which contains a link to the token page of the deployed token.
2. If Clanker is unclear about the request, Clanker will ask clarifying questions to determine the token name, code, and whether the requester wants to deploy the token.
3. If the requester cannot deploy tokens due to various reasons (token deployment limit has been reached, the requester's Neynar user score is too low, the requester has been banned from using clanker).
A specific example is that warpcast user @artlu posted a message @Clanker, and wrote the name of the token BURROTI and the token symbol BURRITO, and attached a picture of a burrito. Clanker not only helped it successfully launch the token, but also interacted with it.
Token Deployment:
Upon receiving a valid token deployment request, Clanker deploys the ERC-20 token on Base by calling the contract:
Initial Token Minting: Mints a new ERC-20 token for the deployer contract.
Uniswap V3 Pool Creation: The Uniswap V3 pool is initialized with a starting market cap of approximately $30,000.
Providing Liquidity to the Pool: ERC-20 tokens are sent from the deployer contract to the Uniswap V3 non-fungible position manager, adding unilateral liquidity to the pool.
Liquidity Locking: The LP NFT is then sent to the LP Locking Contract for a preset default lockup period.
Fee Structure and Rewards:
When Clanker deploys a token, it initiates a Uniswap V3 pool on Base with a protocol fee of 1%. As each token is traded, 1% of each swap in the pool is collected and redistributed as rewards:
60% of swap fees - protocol (Clanker)
40% of swap fees - requesters (users who request Clanker to deploy tokens)
Creating tokens on Clanker is free, and creators can earn 40% of the Uniswap LP fees for the tokens they request, so the greater the trading volume, the more ownership users gain in the tokens, and the more ETH rewards they receive accordingly.
2.Base Ecosystem AI Agents Concept Hot Meme
As of writing, Clanker has issued a total of 4,339 tokens and generated more than $7 million in revenue.
According to data provided by Dune data platform user @0xluc, Clanker had the highest average daily return from November 20 to 26, and showed a continuous upward trend.
According to Dexscreener data, the current market value of Clanker's meme coin CLANKER is about 87.5 million US dollars, the coin price is 87.54 US dollars, and the decline in the past 24 hours is 15.95%.
In addition to CLANKER, there are two popular memes derived from the Clanker application: ANON and LUM.
ANON is an application social product Supercast created by Polish developer woj (@wojtekwtf) based on the Farcaster protocol in October this year. It supports users to post anonymously through the SuperAnon account through zk proof technology.
After that, an anonymous user interacted with Clanker through the Superanon account and successfully issued a MEME coin called ANON. The subsequent interaction between Woj and the community also made ANON gradually famous.
On November 26, Farcaster co-founder Dan Romero posted that the social application Anoncast based on zero-knowledge proof technology launched a new feature that allows users to prove their authorship when necessary while maintaining anonymous posting.
ANON became the first token Vitalik purchased on Base.
ANON's current market value is approximately US$34.2 million, and the coin price is US$0.0034, with a drop of 10% in the past 24 hours.
LUM is a token jointly issued by two AI Agents, Aethernet and Clanker. A Farcaster user asked the Higher community's AI agent aethernet to use Clanker to issue and deploy tokens.
LUM's current market value is approximately US$41.6 million, and the coin price is US$41.64, with a drop of 10.91% in the past 24 hours.
In addition to the above memes, the popular AI Agents related projects on the Base ecosystem include:
VIRTU
Virtu is an AI agent designed to strengthen the Virtuals ecosystem on the Base blockchain. It provides a set of supporting tools to promote the development and adoption of technical solutions in the Virtuals ecosystem, including the ability to manage and optimize digital assets.
AIXBT
AIXBT is an AI Agent released by @0rxbt on @virtuals_io that can scrape data from multiple sources and over 400+ KOLs and spit out real-time information feeds. If users hold more than 600,000 AIXBT tokens, they can also directly access the AIXBT terminal.
LUNA
Luna is an AI virtual idol and live broadcast agent on TikTok created by AI Agent Virtual Protocol on Base, with memory and interactive functions. The agent of Virtuals Protocol is a virtual partner of a band called AI-dol, including Luna (lead singer), Olyn and Iona.
BUG
On November 26, Clanker encountered a technical failure when processing the token casting request of user SantaClanker, and accidentally created a token called BUG. The token was subsequently sought after.
Conclusion
Clanker has all the hot concepts: AI Agents+Web3 social+meme, and the way it produces memes is closer to daily life than Pump.fun, especially the AI agent generation attribute is more creative. However, in terms of the current size, it is still far from Pump.fun, and there are also restrictions on the number of tokens issued and the threshold, so Clanker still needs to improve its own functions.
