Bitgo Leads Crypto Recovery With Strong Market Entry

Bitgo Holdings has effectively ended the silence in the digital asset public markets, securing a valuation of more than $2 billion as it prepares for its New York Stock Exchange debut.

In a move that suggests appetite for crypto infrastructure remains high, the company priced its shares at $18, comfortably ahead of the $15 to $17 range originally suggested to investors.

The Palo Alto-based firm, a veteran of the sector founded in 2013, is raising approximately $212.8 million through the sale of 11.8 million Class A common shares.

While Bitgo is issuing the vast majority of these, roughly 11 million shares, a small portion is being sold by existing stockholders.

To manage further demand, lead managers Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have been granted an option to sell an additional 1.77 million shares over the next 30 days.

Why Is This Crypto Firm Valued At Two Billion

The pricing success follows a period where Bitgo proved its resilience, reporting $10 billion in revenue for the first nine months of 2025.

This is a massive jump from the $1.9 billion recorded during the same period in 2024.

Despite these large figures, the company’s actual take-home profit is more modest; it reported a net income of $8.1 million for those nine months.

This gap exists because of how the company accounts for its trades.

When a user buys an asset, Bitgo records the entire transaction value as revenue, while the asset itself is listed as the cost.

When looking at the core business, subscriptions and services, growth is steady, with that segment rising 56% last year to reach $120.7 million.

Managing $104 billion in assets, Bitgo has transitioned from a simple wallet provider to a vital piece of the global crypto financial system.

What Does Federal Approval Change For Bitgo

A significant catalyst for this ipo was the regulatory green light received in December 2025.

Bitgo, alongside Ripple and Circle, obtained conditional approval for a U.S. banking charter.

This allows them to operate as federally regulated trust banks, bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets.

The timing is also linked to high-profile partnerships.

Bitgo serves as the infrastructure provider for usd1, the stablecoin associated with World Liberty Financial, a project co-founded by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

These ties, combined with a tightening grip on the market, have helped the company maintain its lead as other firms like Kraken and Revolut prepare their own listings later this year.

Who Maintains Control Following The Listing

Even as a public entity, the direction of the company remains firmly in the hands of its co-founder and ceo, Mike Belshe.

Following the offering, Belshe is expected to retain 56% of the voting power.

Other major backers, including Valor Equity Partners and Redpoint Ventures, will hold smaller stakes of 4.6% and 3.9% respectively.

Trading will commence on 22 January 2026 under the ticker symbol "BTGO," with the final settlement of the offering expected by 23 January 2026.

As the first major crypto listing of the year, Bitgo’s performance will be watched closely by the industry as a sign of what is to come for the rest of 2026.
