Microsoft CEO Joins Musk & Trump for Dinner & Discussions
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella joined Donald Trump and Elon Musk for a high-level discussion on AI, cybersecurity, and technology policy, marking another key engagement between the tech industry and the incoming administration.
The meeting, also attended by Trump's running mate JD Vance and Microsoft President Brad Smith, highlighted Microsoft's $80 billion global investment in AI infrastructure, with over $50 billion dedicated to boosting American jobs.
In a statement, Microsoft described the discussion as "productive," emphasizing its commitment to strengthening US competitiveness and advancing technological leadership both domestically and internationally.
Trump Advised Not to Dive Head-First into Heavy Regulations
Despite frequent clashes during Trump’s first term, Silicon Valley has been steadily rebuilding ties with him since his re-election last November.
To prepare for the new administration, Trump and Musk have held multiple private meetings and dinners at Mar-a-Lago.
Meanwhile, the incoming administration has been urged to take a measured approach to AI regulation.
Microsoft President Brad Smith recently emphasized that US policy should focus on fostering AI innovation, stating:
“The most important U.S. public-policy priority should be to ensure that the U.S. private sector can continue to advance with the wind at its back.”
He also stressed the need for a balanced export control policy—one that safeguards AI security while enabling US companies to expand and support allied nations.
However, unlike Ripple's recent dinner with Trump, details of the menu for this latest gathering remain undisclosed.
I guess we will never know what sumptuous delights were on the menu.
