Billionaire Chief Executive Officer of electric vehicle maker Tesla Elon Musk has decided to bring back his controversial haircut with a photo of him with his four-year-old son, X Æ A-XII.
In his post, he wrote "Going back to this haircut." When Musk first showed this haircut back in 2021, it sparked a heated discussion online, with some praising his haircut while others mocked it for resembling the haircut of Adolf Hitler and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The haircut initially went viral after a photo of him exiting a Miami airport, accompanied by his then one-year-old son, X Æ A-XII and his dog, a shiba Inu puppy named Marvin circulated online.
One netizen commented on X, enquiring if Elon Musk knew that he had just gotten the same haircut as Heinrich Himmier, a German Nazi politician who was in power back in the early 90s.
Another commented that how the haircut could diminish his entire look and reputation.
"Musk needs to realise how socially awkward he is, and that this haircut does not make him look cool!"
What is this hairstyle called?
According to Musk's latest picture, it shows his sides shaved, while the top of his hair remains long and wavy. Relating the haircut to Adolf Hitler's haircut, a social media user named MAGA Voice commented "Hitlers also got haircuts", while another netizen asked "What's the hair cut name?"
The internet also seems divided over whether they like haircuts or not. "Hate it," one wrote. "Looks good", said another.
There are also others who have jokingly suggested a few new hairstyles for Musk to try in the future. One netizen wrote
"So cool, but I love more your and Lil X messy hair!"
But there are also many others who have chosen not to focus on Musk's haircut; instead focusing on how adorable Li'l X looked posing with daddy Musk. One netizen wrote
"This little guy is the future of King of Marsl LIttle X is so adorable God bless you, the best Daddy. Best regards from Albania."
In January this year, an AI generated video showed Musk getting a hircut by a robot went viral on social media. A Facebook user posted the clip with a caption:
"Getting his haircut by a robot, Elon Musk has given this message to the world that in the coming times, the businesses of many professionals are going to be in danger due to this technology."
Nazi controversies continue
On Thursday, Musk, who has been cutting thousands of federal workers as the head of Department of Government Efficiency, reposted a message on X saying
"Stalin, Mao, and Hitler didn't murder millions of people. Their public sector employees did."
The post drew furious reactions from a labor union and the Anti-Defamation League. Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees fired back
"America's public service workers-our nurses, teachers firefighters, librarians-chose making our communities safe, healthy and strong over getting rich. They are not, as the world's richest man implies, genocidal murderers."
Sander adds that billionaires like Musk has no idea what real people go through everyday. For this reason Musk is so willing to take a chainsaw to people's jobs, Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare.
Likewise, Musk's comment was also criticised by the Anti-Defamation League, a non-profit that seeks to combat antisemitism. The organisation called Musk's comments deeply disturbing.
"It is deeply disturbing and irresponsible for someone with a large public platform to elevate the kind of rhetoric that serves to undermine the seriousness of these issues."
Back in January, Musk sparked controversy again with a gesture that was compared to that of the Nazi salute while speaking at an inaugural event for President Donald Trump.
When the video circulated online, it also sparked a slew of negative comments, many criticising his gesture as something just vile.
