Taipei Blockchain Week kicks off, Web3 Trend Exchange Forum officially kicks off
Taipei Blockchain Week kicked off this week! It brought together blockchain experts and Web3 pioneers from around the world to discuss the development trends of the next generation of the Internet. On the evening of the 12th, OKX Ventures, together with SUI, Spacenation, Kronos Research, Orderly Network, Memecore, UXLink, Yei Finance, Copex and other internationally renowned Web3 project parties and investment institutions, jointly held an invitation-only event "NIGHT OF THE FUTURE". Keynote speeches and fireside discussions were held at the event site to discuss the future development direction and trends of the cryptocurrency industry and Web3. In addition to the discussion at the forefront of the industry, OKX Ventures also held various fun activities on site. Memefi, Spacenation and other well-known Gamefi international projects exhibited the most cutting-edge blockchain games for the guests to experience; at the same time, a technological opening dance and interesting wine and food menus were prepared, and the guests were invited to watch together. With more than 500 participants, the event was the invitation-only event with the largest number of participants on the first day of TBW.
During the event, Jeff Ren, partner of OKX Ventures, emphasized in his opening speech "NOW and FUTURE of OKX Ventures" that the mission of OKX Ventures is to explore and invest in innovative blockchain projects worldwide and promote the sustainable development of the entire industry. As an investment institution that has been deeply involved in the blockchain industry for many years, we adhere to the strategy of "innovation + empowerment" and integrate OKX's core resources, including traffic support, trading services, public chain technology and all-round technical support, to create a complete resource ecosystem to provide comprehensive support for invested projects from early stages to key development nodes. More importantly, OKX Ventures is not just a financial investor, we also play the dual roles of "discoverer" and "enabler".
Mr. Jeff Ren has nearly 20 years of investment experience. In his speech, he said that since its establishment, we have invested in more than 300 projects, covering Layer1, Layer2, DeFi, AI, GameFi and other fields. 2024 is a year of gradual recovery in the blockchain industry. OKX Ventures has completed more than 80 investments in this year, covering Bitcoin ecology, AI, DePIN (decentralized Internet of Things) and other fields. OKX Ventures will continue to allocate resources and capital to projects focusing on blockchain infrastructure, GameFi, DeFi, NFTs and other fields to promote technological innovation and industry progress.
Ryan He, Head of Marketing at Space Nation, showed everyone the model and data of Space Nation games in his keynote speech "The Metaverse: A Journey Beyond Gaming", and talked about the future development of the gaming industry.
Kronos Research CIO Vincent Liu discussed the changing cryptocurrency market landscape and the important role of market makers in shaping its future in his keynote speech "Envisioning Crypto in 2025: The Role of Market Makers in Shaping the Future". In his speech, Vincent highlighted innovations such as decentralized order books and AI tools that are narrowing the gap between centralized and decentralized systems. Vincent also explored the growing collaboration between traditional finance and DeFi, which he believes paves the way for a centralized model that enhances liquidity and efficiency. As cryptocurrencies enter mainstream portfolios, clearer regulation and smarter infrastructure will create fairer and more accessible markets for everyone.
In addition, Ran Yi, co-founder of Orderly Network, pointed out in his speech "DEXs 3.0: The CEX to DEX transition" that there is still huge room for optimization in current Web3 transactions. By combining the advantages of CEX and DEX and solving existing pain points, the user's trading experience can be significantly improved. As a cloud liquidity infrastructure project, Orderly Network focuses on integrating the liquidity of derivatives across the entire chain, integrating orders on different chains into the on-chain order book, and creating a unified liquidity ecosystem across the entire chain. This move not only effectively solves the problem of decentralized liquidity between chains, but also improves trading efficiency, provides a deeper liquidity pool, and significantly narrows trading spreads.
In the first fireside discussion, DA Captial COO Tim Shen, CopeX Co-founder Paul and Elite Trading Academy Alvin discussed "How can the community become a strong backing for user transactions? 》, DA Captial COO Tim Shen believes that a good trading community, in the DA Traders Alliance, is to provide different methods and tools for community users to learn by understanding the user's trading level and the age of entering the circle. For newbies, analysts' real-time views on the market are more needed. We use systematic tutorials to enable people who are new to the currency circle to avoid fraud and use currency circle tools correctly, and then supplemented by daily live broadcasts to build trust in the community and become familiar with the cryptocurrency market. For community users who already have basic knowledge, we provide market hot spot information and project research that have been screened and observed by our investment research personnel to eliminate the information gap in cryptocurrency.
CopeX Co-founder Paul said that first of all, professionalism is basic in building a community, and KOLs themselves must have a certain understanding of trading before they are qualified to lead users. Secondly, education and interaction are also very important. Most of the time, trading is garbage time, and the process is very boring. How to make users feel interesting in this process and continue to provide content to users is a topic for each community. Finally, tools are also very important. For example, CopeX can make users trade more smoothly and quickly obtain market information. It can also make it easier for KOLs and teams to manage communities, increase additional income, and become an important incentive to attract users to join the community.
Elite Trading Academy Alvin believes that the core of a valuable trading community is to provide reliable information, professional guidance and valuable discussions.
For our Elite Trading Academy, leaders must have practical experience, be able to provide accurate market analysis, and help users understand the nature of the market. In addition, the community is based on learning to understand user needs and provide systematic content for novice or experienced investors. More importantly, the learning environment is also a key factor affecting the community. The market changes quickly, so users should be able to be given timely answers and given concepts to help users view the market correctly. Next, I think the core of operating a community is positioning and architecture design. Only when the positioning is clear can the corresponding groups be attracted. The value of the community is not just to provide information, but to help each user find the direction of growth through good business strategies, structured learning, building a complete knowledge system, long-term practical exercises, and the combination of data and analysis tools, and make the community itself a partner they rely on for a long time.
The second fireside discussion hosted by Blocktempo Alex, "What's the future of gaming and mini apps", discussed the future of Gamefi and mini apps in combination with the current hottest telegram.
Anndy Lian of Memecore believes that in the past few years, many developers have tried to introduce Web2 users to Web3 through games. I believe that MEME culture has untapped potential to accelerate this transformation. With MemeCore, our goal is to use the power of MEME to drive mass adoption, inspire creativity, and expand the possibilities of the Web3 field. We aim not only to achieve product development, but also to reimagine the way people interact with blockchain networks.
CashCashBot founder Sabi Ge said that MiniApp has actually been verified by the Web2 market on WeChat and Douyin, so it will soon be copied to platforms such as TG, LINE, and Tiktok; the mini-games that have been seen on WeChat and Douyin in the past will also be migrated to new platforms to capture new traffic and monetization. These are already being developed by professional studios. Tap to Earn's mini-games are just the most basic and violent first step. Interactive games, social applets, and AI application applets will definitely appear in the future, and they will be empowered with the value of Web3.
Space Nation's Darren Space Nation's Darren explored the future of MMORPG and the role of the virtual economy in depth. He explained how Spacenation is using blockchain to simplify existing game modes, rather than reinventing the wheel.
“We’re not inventing something new; we’re just simplifying what already works”
He cited examples such as World of Warcraft, where players have been trading assets and accounts for years. He argued that blockchain offers a more efficient and secure way to manage these transactions.
Darren also stressed the importance of a strong in-game economy to the success of an MMORPG. He noted that many games fail because their economies collapse, leading to a drop in player engagement.
In 2024, as Bitcoin breaks through 100,000 US dollars, more countries and industries are buying and storing Bitcoin, and the research on international blockchain applications and payment tools is also accelerating, showing the broad prospects of blockchain technology worldwide.
