Frame, a new blockchain designed for NFTs, has successfully completed a funding round. The initiative was spearheaded by Electric Capital, a renowned venture capital entity. The funding pool also included contributions from notable figures such as Ray Chan, founder of 9gag, Luca Netz, and 0xMaki, previously at the helm of Sushiswap.

Launching a Unique Airdrop for NFT Enthusiasts

Frame has made a concurrent announcement about an airdrop of its native FRAME token. This move targets NFT traders who remained active despite the bear market. While Frame's mainnet is scheduled to launch in January, the trading of FRAME tokens will be deferred to a later, yet-to-be-determined date.

Eligibility Criteria for Airdrop Participants

Eligibility for the initial phase of the airdrop, termed 'Chapter 1,' extends to anyone who has engaged in NFT trading on Ethereum in the past two years. The allocation of tokens will be based on the trading volume and royalties paid. Future phases of the airdrop will incentivize activity on the Frame network post-launch.

Frame's objective is to establish a blockchain that is both creator-friendly and community-governed. This includes integrating royalties at the core network level. This approach is particularly relevant as leading NFT marketplaces, such as Blur and OpenSea, have recently moved away from enforcing creator royalties.

The challenge of ensuring fair royalties for creators in the NFT space is not unique to Frame. This issue has sparked considerable debate over the past year. In a similar vein, the RARI Foundation recently introduced the RARI Chain, a Layer 3 blockchain, which also enforces royalties at the node level.
