Friend.tech Rapid Fall From Grace In Three Months

On August 10, 2023, friend.tech officially launched. Two months later, friend.tech's Total Value Locked (TVL) surged past US$50 million. However, on November 19, its TVL dropped to US$33.98 million, a 19.5% decrease from US$42.25 million on November 18, within the last two days.
Robot Accounts?
On November 17th, friend.tech launched the friend.tech feed, allowing users to control post rankings through voting. Users with higher Key prices will receive more votes.
Friend.tech recently announced on social media on November 18th that they have identified and removed 600,000 accounts recognized as bots from the feed's voting distribution. They also mentioned that if a user's account is mistakenly identified as a bot, they can contact friend.tech customer service and provide their X username.
According to some users' feedback, friend.tech categorizes accounts using default usernames or alphanumeric combinations as bot accounts, causing this issue.
No Ethics!
It seems like user @defi_goddess on friend.tech expressed on X platform，
"To anyone who wants to leave any socialFi apps: If you want to quit, you should send DMs and tell the last 3,3s you did in order first to let them sell first. Its basic ethics and common sense."
The Response from Founder
Amidst the heated discussions in the community, friend.tech founder Racer posted in Chinese on the platform, 家人們，誰懂啊？（Family, who understands?）Some platform users feel this portrays friend.tech's team as unprofessional. It seems users want an official response from friend.tech rather than Racer's venting!
