DeFi Hotspots
1. EigenLayer: The mainnet will be launched at the end of June or July
Golden Finance reported that EigenLayer's redistribution function is now online on the testnet. This function allows the Active Verification Service (AVS) to redistribute confiscated funds instead of destroying them, thus providing possibilities for new application scenarios such as lending and insurance protocols.
Currently, this function has been launched on the Holesky, Sepolia and Hoodi testnets, and is expected to be launched on the mainnet at the end of June or July.
2. Traders bet that the price of Ethereum will break through $3,400 by the end of June
Golden Finance reported that traders spent more than $2 million to buy Ethereum call options expiring at the end of June, betting that the price of ETH will rise from the current $2,460 to $3,200-3,400, an increase of more than 30%. Analysts believe that the Pectra upgrade implemented by Ethereum in early May has improved network scalability and validator flexibility, coupled with SharpLink Gaming's announcement that it will use $425 million as Ethereum reserve assets, and the market's expectations that U.S. regulators may approve a spot Ethereum ETF with a pledge mechanism, which has boosted investor confidence. Experts say these developments may mark ETH as a trend of enterprise adoption similar to Bitcoin's early days.
3. Skate (SKATE) will be launched on Binance Alpha and Binance Futures soon
Golden Finance reported that according to the official announcement, Binance announced that it will launch the new cryptocurrency Skate (SKATE) on the Binance Alpha platform at 18:00 Beijing time on June 9, 2025, and will launch the SKATEUSDT perpetual contract on Binance Futures at 18:30 on the same day, supporting up to 50 times leverage. Binance has become the first platform to support SKATE trading. Eligible users can receive airdrop rewards through Binance Alpha points within 24 hours after the launch.
4. Silk Road founder received $31 million in Bitcoin donations, suspected to be related to the Alphabay darknet market
Golden Finance reported that according to Cointelegraph, the blockchain analysis company Chainalysis reported that the 300 Bitcoins (worth about $31 million) donated by Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht earlier this month were suspected to come from wallets related to the darknet market Alphabay. Analysis shows that donors use a variety of mixing services to hide transaction traces, and the funds may come from Alphabay's early suppliers. Blockchain detective ZachXBT confirmed that the funds did not come from Silk Road, but its transaction pattern indicates that illegal sources may be involved. Alphabay was the successor to Silk Road, operating from 2014 to 2017, and was later closed in the "Operation Bayonet" action. It is worth noting that Ulbricht was fully pardoned by President Trump in January this year after serving a 12-year sentence for operating Silk Road.
