Could The Bitcoin Rally Push Its Anomynous Founder to Become the World’s Richest Person?
After hovering below its all-time high for weeks, Bitcoin has now shattered $120,000, propelling its founder's to the 11th richest person in the world.
With an estimated 1.096 million BTC held across thousands of wallets—valued at over $131 billion at current prices—Satoshi Nakamoto now theoretically outranks tech moguls like Michael Dell, whose net worth stands at $125.1 billion.
Despite this remarkable ascent, Nakamoto is still far away from beating the wealth of the richest man alive, Elon Musk.
For Nakamoto to clench the top spot, Bitcoin would need to reach about $370,000, a 208% increase. Larry Ellison, co-founder of software company Oracle, is second on the list with a fortune estimated to be $274 billion.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg comes in third place with $250 billion under his name.
Where Is The Bitcoin Peak?
While Bitcoin continues to rally, analysts have been going crazy throwing in different predictions of where Bitcoin will peak this time.
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas boldly predicted that Bitcoin would continue to grow 50% every year, adding that this growth could even make Satoshi the second richest person, surpassing Warren Buffett and Zuckerberg.
10x research head Markus Thielen predicted that there is a 60% chance for Bitcoin to register a 20% gain in the next two months and hit $133,000 in September.
Meanwhile, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes predicted that Bitcoin would hit $250,000 by the end of the year.
How Do Other Bitcoin Whales Compare?
Satoshi Nakamoto remains the largest individual Bitcoin holder by a wide margin. Corporations and custodians hold 847,000, or 4% of Bitcoin capped supply, according to BiTBO.
Next in line is the Winklevoss twins, the founder of crypto exchange Gemini, hold an estimated 70,000 Bitcoin.
Tim Draper, a venture capitalist and early Bitcoin backer, holds around 30,000 Bitcoin which he bought at a 2014 U.S Marshals auction.
Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor also has a private stash outside his company's holding of around 17,732.
