MicroStrategy, the largest Bitcoin holder, announced the purchase of 1,070 BTC in the last two days of 2024.
The company disclosed the purchase on January 6 and said it spent approximately $101 million in cash between December 30 and 31, 2024.
According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the average price of the acquisition was approximately $94,004 per Bitcoin.
According to the current Form 8-K filing, MicroStrategy has not made additional Bitcoin purchases since December 31.
MicroStrategy Currently Holds 447,470 BTC
Following the latest acquisition, MicroStrategy holds 447,470 BTC, which was purchased for approximately $27.97 billion, or $62,503 per BTC, as of January 5. This amount represents 2.1% of all mineable Bitcoin.
Similar to previous MicroStrategy Bitcoin purchases, the latest acquisition was made using proceeds from the issuance and sale of shares under the Convertible Notes Sales Agreement.
The purchase occurred shortly after MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor posted a Bitcoin chart on the SaylorTracker website on January 5, hinting at an impending BTC purchase.
