Elon Ma Skoda confirmed at a recent press conference that Tesla will soon enable Dogecoin (Dogecoin) payment, saying that DOGE will soon become one of the official payment methods for purchasing Tesla. But he did not specify when the payment method is expected to be enabled.
The billionaire publicly expressed his support for Dogecoin while speaking at a "We Are Giga" event in Texas. He spoke on stage in front of hundreds of people and called for "Dogecoin to go to the moon" - to cheers from the crowd.
The billionaire explained that he supports Dogecoin because it is a poor man’s currency. He emphasized: Rich people buy Bitcoin, but ordinary people buy Dogecoin. He calls DOGE a “cryptocurrency for ordinary people” and supports this type of meme currency that ordinary people value.
"When can I buy a Tesla with Dogecoin?" one attendee asked Musk. “We will enable this feature at some point,” the entrepreneur said. He added: “A lot of people don’t know why I support Dogecoin. When I walked around Tesla’s factory, A lot of regular people are saying 'hey, can you support DOGE'? Even at SpaceX, regular people working in the factory are saying 'please support DOGE'."
"I was like, you know what, DOGE is a cryptocurrency for regular people. I will support it. A lot of rich people support Bitcoin, but I will support Dogecoin. Dogecoin is for you (normal people), and I will Support it,” he told the cheering crowd.
In short, Dogecoin may soon become the official payment method for buying Tesla cars in the future. Musk emphasized his support for DOGE and his belief in the meme cryptocurrency’s prospects. "Dogecoin is headed for the moon," the billionaire entrepreneur said at the end of his speech.
