Sky Strife, a full-chain game developed by the Lattice team, was launched on the Redstone mainnet yesterday. So far, the game has generated more than 1,000 battles and 798 registered players.

However, compared with Sky Strife's game mechanism, its slightly complex economic system may be more confusing to novice players.
In the current Sky Strife economic system, there are both Orbs(?) tokens in the form of ERC-20 and Season Pass NFTs. In addition, in this SkyStrife mainnet version, a new concept called Sky Key has appeared.
So how do these different components form a complete game economic system, and how is it actually running now? In this article, we will briefly analyze the token economics of Sky Strife for you.
01.Orbs(?)
Orbs(?) is currently the most important token in the Sky Strife game, with a total circulation of 100 million, a fixed total, and all of them have been minted. Except for a few Orbs(?) that have been distributed to winning players through game rewards, the remaining tokens are all stored in the Sky Pool contract address (Address: 0x9d05cc196c87104a7196fcca41280729b505dbbf).
In this season, each game created by a player will consume 100 Orbs(?). At the same time, after each game, the system will pay the winning player the corresponding Orbs(?) from the Sky Pool fund pool as a reward.
In each game, the tokens awarded to the player are 100 Orbs(?)*reward base. The reward base will be dynamically adjusted according to the total number of games completed in the past 7 days. The specific algorithm is shown in the table below:
In short, if the number of games completed in the past 7 days is too small, the reward coefficient will increase, up to 5 times the base reward amount, which is 500 Orbs(?). If the number of games completed in the previous 7 days is too large, the reward base for newly opened games will continue to decrease, with a minimum of 0.1 times the base reward, which is 10 Orbs(?) per game.
If the number of games completed in the past 7 days is exactly stable at 1,000 games, the system will reach a balance and the circulation of Orbs(?) will not change.
In each round, the number of rewards for different players will be distributed according to their ranking in the game. The specific mechanism is shown in the table below:
According to the explanation of the official document, the main purpose of designing this token issuance mechanism is to curb speculation in the game.
Because once the total number of games in the past 7 days exceeds 1,000, the expected income and cost of speculators will reach a balance (maximum income 100-starting cost 100=0) or even be negative, at which time speculators will stop participating in the game, and in theory there will be only real game players in the system.
02.Season Pass
A few days before the start of each season, Sky Strife will also start the Season Pass casting activity for the game of this season.
Of course, Season Pass is not a necessary condition for participating in the game. Holding Season Pass will only give players some special rights, and ordinary players can still participate in the game normally without Season Pass.
Take this season as an example, the casting fee of Season Pass is unified as 0.03ETH, and the holder will have the following exclusive functions:
1. Freely set the entrance fee when creating a game, or set a whitelist for the game, and create a game that only private persons can participate in (you can also create a game without Season Pass, but the functions are limited);
2. Select all types of initial heroes (currently there are 3 types, two of which are exclusive to Season Pass);
3. Enter the exclusive map (currently one of the four maps is exclusive to Season Pass);
4. Enter the exclusive battle;
In addition, it is worth reminding that each Season The validity period of the Pass will be limited to the current season and cannot be used across seasons.
03.Sky Key: Changes and invariants of game rules
Although immutability has always been one of the characteristics of smart contracts, like many DeFi protocols, many full-chain games can still upgrade or adjust certain key parameters after deployment.
So how should these permissions be managed? This has also become a governance issue that full-chain games must solve in the future.
In the Sky Strife game deployed on the mainnet this time, developers abstract all game modification permissions into "Sky Key". The holder of Sky Key will have the right to manage the Sky Strife World contract and the Sky Pool, the fund pool.
Sky Key holders will be able to freely adjust the following game parameters or content:
Map;
Hero;
Building;
Army;
Terrain;
Game reward mechanism;
Season;
Season Pass;
Open source game front end;
But in addition to the above variable rules, the underlying basic mechanism of the game is still unmodifiable, including:
The core logic of the game, such as health, strength, movement, attack, etc.;
The core economic mechanism of the game, including: creating competitions, sky pool, and battle reward system;
Currently, the management of Sky Key is still controlled by Lattice, the development team of Sky Strife. But in the document, Lattice stated that it will return the management rights of Sky Key to the community in the future.
04. Actual operation
1. Reward base
On the first day after the Sky Strife mainnet was launched, enthusiastic players (including Orbs(?) speculators) created a large number of games, causing the total number of games created in the past 7 days to quickly exceed 1,000.
This caused the reward base for each game to quickly drop from 5x to 0.75x, causing the total circulation of Orbs(?) to enter a deflationary state.
Since the game's reward base is calculated based on the total number of games in the past 7 days, it is not possible to see the game's reward base recover until May 9 at the earliest. Therefore, the enthusiasm of players to create new games has been greatly suppressed, and the game has begun to enter a quiet period.
2. Orbs(?) price
Redswap, which was launched with the Redstone mainnet, helped the market quickly realize the pricing of Orbs(?). After the early sell-off caused the price of Orbs(?) to fall rapidly, the current price of Orbs(?) has basically stabilized around 0.1USDC/Orbs(?).
However, due to the small size of the current market's capital pool, the price of Orbs(?) still has a great risk of volatility.
3.Season Pass (Season 1)
According to the data from the NFT market redstone.market in Redstone, the total number of Season Passes minted has exceeded 500. There is still about 1 day left before the end of the minting period, and the number of new mintings has dropped significantly.
In short, as the first full-chain game on the Redstone mainnet, Sky Strife has achieved good first-run results. Its economic system also provides a lot of reference space for latecomers. We will continue to observe whether Sky Strife in the future can be dominated by real players and avoid falling into speculation traps.
