JPEX's alleged fraud controversy continues to unfold. Recently, apart from the additional arrest of over 30 individuals in Hong Kong, there's also been a new update from Taiwan.
Nine Chen, a Taiwanese celebrity who was a former spokesperson for JPEX, has been involved in the issue. Nine Chen, the day before his concert, went from being a witness to a defendant, becoming the first artist to be turned into a defendant in this controversy. However, despite this, he still performed at Taipei Arena on the 25th, seemingly unaffected by the case in his entertainment career.
The Deny
Nine Chen held a concert at Taipei Arena on the 25th. According to an interview by ETtoday, when asked about being reclassified as a defendant, he clarified,
"I've said that I didn't take anything I shouldn't have. The first time I went was to clarify matters as a witness, but later there might have been a victim filing a complaint against me. That's a separate case, although it's part of the same incident; they're different things."
Vegetarian Luck Change
Since being reclassified as a defendant just a day before the concert, Chen Nine stated that his mood wasn't particularly affected. Additionally, he admitted to seeking out a 'Luck Master' to change his luck, stating,
"Because things aren't going smoothly, and to pray for a safe and smooth concert and for everything to settle down peacefully, the master said I might need to be vegetarian for seven days and recite prayers ten times."
