The number of people affected by the collective food poisoning incident of ByteDance employees has risen to 130, and Putian Central Kitchen and YUN NANS Nafucheng branch have been ordered to suspend operations.
Initially reported on July 30, the number of people affected has increased from 60 to 130. Many employees experienced gastrointestinal symptoms after eating a Chinese buffet lunch at the office cafeteria at One Raffles Quay.
The Ministry of Health and the Singapore Food Agency issued a statement on July 31, confirming that 17 people are still hospitalized and in a stable condition. The others have either received treatment, self-medicated, or recovered on their own.
Putian Central Kitchen and YUN NANS Nafucheng have been ordered to suspend operations from July 31. The measure will remain in effect until further notice for a thorough investigation.
On the morning of July 31, food safety officers conducted observations at the YUN NANS Nafucheng store. They collected food samples and interviewed restaurant staff. The investigation lasted all day, and law enforcement officers stayed until late afternoon.
