Burls Art embraced these hurdles, demonstrating a remarkable ability to transform theoretical ideas into tangible reality.
The initial phase involved moulding an ultra-thick body that draws inspiration from the sleek forms of a Gibson Explorer and an Ibanez Iceman.
This unique design choice features straight lines and chunky angles that not only enhance aesthetics but also allow the guitar to sit comfortably on its side, a crucial factor for an instrument that doubles as an aquarium.
To ensure the integrity of this unusual creation, Burls Art opted for epoxy over acrylic when constructing the guitar’s body, addressing potential leakage concerns that could jeopardise both the guitar's electronics and the aquatic environment within.
The guitar is equipped with a single humbucker positioned at the bridge, cleverly shielded from water exposure by a robust barrier of 16-inch acrylic and silicone.

To complete the design, a wall-mount crafted from stained birch adds a touch of elegance to the presentation.
The finishing touches included a 2K urethane primer, which not only provides a clear, scratch-free surface but also enhances the visual appeal of this extraordinary instrument.
Complementing the body is a classic maple neck and a rosewood fretboard, seamlessly bolted to the structure.
While this guitar is primarily conceived as a visual centerpiece, it is, remarkably, fully playable.
