The Zero-Knowledge Layer 2 (ZK-L2) network ZKFair today announces the official launch of its mainnet.
The project has also taken the opportunity to announce its airdrop page.
Details on the website, however, are scant, and many users are left wondering the specific mechanics of the airdrop.
What is ZKFair?
Within the Ethereum ecosystem, ZK-Rollup technology is gaining traction as a vital solution for scalability enhancement and reducing transaction costs.
Positioned as the "1st community-owned ZK Layer 2," ZKFair leverages on Polygon's Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Celestia DA's ZK-L2, with technical support from Lumoz RaaS.
The project focuses on addressing the current high barrier to entry for Layer 2 users.
The total supply of ZKF is set at 10 billion, out of which 7.5 billion is allocated for a Gas Fee Airdrop.
The remaining 2.5 billion is allocated for airdrops to community users.
These users include those on Polygon zkEVM, zkSync, Linea, Scroll, ZKSpace interactive addresses, Lumoz point holders, Ordinals community, among others.
Community members can check the airdrop amounts that they qualify for on the official website.
Gas Fee Airdrop
7.5 billion tokens will be released through a Gas Fee Airdrop approximately three days after the mainnet launch, with a capped Gas Fee limit of 3 million USDC.
The Gas Fee Airdrop process, will commence about three days post ZKFair mainnet launch.
As of time of publication, there remains slightly less than two days before this happens.
Users actively contributing Gas Fees during the initial phase, covering the first 3 million USDC equivalent in fees, will determine their allocation of ZKF from this airdrop pool.
The project ensures transparency by providing a real-time Gas Fee Airdrop progress tracker on their website.
The event concludes automatically upon reaching the 3 million USDC Gas Fee limit.
Users can claim their ZKF tokens on the Airdrop page within 24 hours after the Gas Fee Airdrop concludes.
Community Airdrop
Additionally, there is a Community Airdrop of 2.5 billion ZKF.
Users on Polygon zkEVM Chain will receive 800 million ZKF tokens based on their Gas Fee contributions between 20th October and 20th December.
Another 200 million ZKF tokens are allocated for users on various ZK-Rollup Chains, rewarding Gas Fee contributions on platforms like zkSync, Scroll, ZKSpace, and Linea.
Lumoz Loyalty Point Holders are next in line for 800 million tokens, determined by their earned loyalty points.
Contributors to the ZKFair protocol will receive 200 million ZKF tokens, while 500 million tokens are allocated to Ordinal Community token holders.
If you are eligible to claim this airdrop, make sure you make it your first priority.
Tokens left unclaimed after 10 days will be automatically removed.
No additional ZKF will be issued in the future beyond that point.
Free USDC Faucet
Regardless if you qualify for the airdrop or not, you can now claim 0.1 USDC in ZKFair Discord's #usdc-faucet channel after the mainnet launch.
While it's unclear what the purpose of this faucet is for, Coinlive believes it's an effort to drive adoption numbers up quickly as well as to test the scalability of the network.
The token will be automatically transferred to your address on ZKFair; you can check this in your wallet or in ZKFair's blockchain explorer.
