China Responds to U.S. Critical Mineral Reserve Plan

On February 3, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, addressed a routine press conference. According to Jin10, a reporter inquired about the United States' anticipated launch of a critical mineral reserve plan, initially funded with $12 billion. This move comes as Washington seeks to reduce its dependency on China for resources such as rare earth elements. Lin Jian commented, "China's position on maintaining the stability and security of the global supply chain for critical minerals remains unchanged. All parties have a responsibility to play a constructive role in this matter."
