Federal Reserve Likely to Maintain Interest Rates, Says Investment Manager

The Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates unchanged next week, according to Matthias Scheiber, a senior portfolio manager at Allspring Global Investments. According to ChainCatcher, Scheiber believes there is a strong likelihood that the Federal Reserve will not lower rates. However, he cautions that a continued rise in energy prices could negatively impact consumer and business confidence. Scheiber also noted that prior to the Middle East conflict, the U.S. economy was projected to achieve approximately 2.5% real GDP growth.
