Galaxy Research Highlights Challenges for U.S. Crypto Regulation

On March 15, Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Research, expressed concerns regarding the U.S. crypto regulation bill, the CLARITY Act. According to BlockBeats, Thorn indicated that if the bill does not pass the Senate committee by the end of April, its chances of approval by 2026 will significantly decrease. The bill is required to be on the Senate's full voting agenda by early May. The ongoing debate over stablecoin rewards is seen as a primary obstacle. However, Thorn noted that even if a compromise is reached on this issue, other challenges such as decentralized finance (DeFi), developer protection, the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) authority, and ethical considerations may still pose significant hurdles.
