U.S. Producer Prices Rise More Than Expected in February

The U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand increased by 3.4% year-on-year in February, surpassing market expectations of 2.9%. According to RTHK, the monthly increase accelerated to 0.7%, exceeding the anticipated 0.3% rise. Excluding food and energy, the core PPI rose by 3.9% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month, both figures higher than market forecasts.
