NASA Redirects Artemis Program Toward Permanent Moon Base

NASA has announced a strategic shift in its Artemis program, focusing on establishing a permanent base on the Moon. According to NS3.AI, the agency plans to invest approximately $20 billion over the next seven years to support this initiative. The revised plan involves pausing the development of the Gateway station and reallocating funding and engineering resources to lunar surface infrastructure. Artemis III is now scheduled for 2027, with NASA aiming to send crews to the Moon twice annually following Artemis V.
