India Seeks Assistance to Mitigate LPG Shortage Impact on Steel Industry

India's Ministry of Steel has approached the Ministry of Petroleum for assistance to ensure that steel plants are not adversely affected by a shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), according to sources. India, the world's second-largest producer of crude steel, is currently facing its most severe LPG supply crisis in decades due to the conflict in Iran. According to Jin10, a source stated, "We have communicated with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to explore the most effective measures under the current conditions. Discussions are ongoing." Earlier reports indicated that small steel producers in India have warned of potential production halts due to the gas shortage.
