Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the country's ongoing efforts to facilitate trilateral talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. According to RTHK, Zelensky expressed willingness to hold meetings at any location. In an interview with Ukrainian media, Zelensky stated that Ukraine maintains daily communication with the U.S., although he acknowledged facing difficulties in the process. He described himself more as a mediator in the negotiation process rather than a direct party to the conflict.
Zelensky disclosed that due to the situation in the Middle East, the U.S. can only conduct negotiations within its own borders for security reasons. Meanwhile, Russia has expressed willingness to meet anywhere outside the United States. Zelensky reiterated Ukraine's commitment to facilitating talks at any venue.
Russian Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov recently stated that Russia remains interested in negotiations and hopes to hold a new round of talks as soon as conditions permit.
