On the same day, the U.S. military deployed a new type of ballistic missile, which had not been previously tested in combat, striking a sports facility and a school near a Revolutionary Guard military site in another southern city. Local officials reported that the airstrikes and nearby attacks resulted in at least 21 deaths.
