Visa has officially integrated Polygon into its global stablecoin settlement program. According to Odaily, Visa's issuing and acquiring institutions can now complete stablecoin settlements via the Polygon network. Polygon claims to be the largest USD stablecoin payment network globally, with 34% of USD stablecoin transfers and 54% of USDC transfers occurring on its platform. The network boasts approximately 3.19 million weekly active stablecoin users and an on-chain stablecoin supply of $3.62 billion. In March, the number of USD stablecoin transactions reached 178.1 million.
Visa's stablecoin settlement program has an annualized operating scale of $7 billion this quarter, marking a 50% increase from three months ago. Polygon highlights its network's low transaction fees and approximately four-second transaction finality time. It is already used by companies like Stripe, Revolut, Flutterwave, and BlackRock for real financial activity settlements.
