Trip.com (09961) fell 2.6% to HK$349.8, with about 890,000 shares traded for HK$313 million, as tourism-related stocks weakened, according to ETNet.
Chengdu's culture and tourism bureau cited Tongcheng data showing that total online travel product orders, tourist numbers and spending across China's 2026 summer holiday period fell 5.79%, 9.81% and 7.68%, respectively. Tongcheng also said non-local visitors accounted for 56% of summer night-tour product orders, indicating a lower share for local consumers.
Tongcheng Travel (00780) dropped 1.3% to HK$11.89, Meituan (03690) lost 2.3% to HK$77.1, and Huazhu Group-S (01179) slipped 0.5% to HK$36.82. The Hang Seng Index was down 1.2% at 25,269, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 0.8% and the Hang Seng Tech Index lost 1.1%.
