According to Odaily, the Arkansas Senate has introduced a bill this week aimed at prohibiting digital asset mining operations within a 30-mile radius of any U.S. military facility. Senate Bill 60, co-sponsored by Senator Ricky Hill (R-Cabot) and House Speaker Brian Evans (R-Cabot), seeks to amend the 2023 Arkansas Data Centers Act to ensure mining sites are kept away from military installations. This legislation appears to target a cryptocurrency mining facility under construction just outside the city limits of Cabot, located less than five miles from the Little Rock Air Force Base. The facility is owned by Steve Landers Jr.'s Interstate Holdings and is set to be one of several cryptocurrency ventures the company operates in Arkansas.
