According to PANews, the Trump administration is contemplating the inclusion of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL) in the national strategic reserves. OSL's Executive Director and Head of Regulatory Affairs, Diao Jiajun, noted that BTC, often referred to as 'digital gold,' and ETH, known for its smart contract infrastructure, have the potential to be considered strategic reserve assets due to their market consensus and inherent logic.
Diao further explained that assets like XRP and SOL exhibit diverse market characteristics, potentially aligning more closely with technology stocks, commodities, or corporate bonds. This diversification could expand the applicability of crypto assets in national reserves and open new strategic possibilities.
He emphasized the need for stringent and cautious selection criteria in the process of integrating digital assets into national reserves. As global regulatory landscapes evolve, proactive strategies in secure custody, liquidity management, and policy adaptation will become crucial topics for both market participants and policymakers.
