India to Implement OECD Crypto Asset Reporting Framework by 2027

According to PANews, a senior official from India's Ministry of Finance has disclosed that the country plans to implement the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) starting April 1, 2027. This initiative aims to bring overseas cryptocurrency assets held by Indian residents under tax regulation. The official stated that India is expected to sign the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA) next year, which serves as a global framework for the automatic exchange of tax information.
