Winklevoss Brothers Donate Zcash to Support Shielded Labs Initiatives

Shielded Labs, led by Zcash founder Zooko, has announced a donation of 3,221 ZEC from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, valued at approximately $1.2 million. According to Foresight News, this contribution will directly support Shielded Labs' core initiatives, including the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM), Crosslink, and dynamic fees, aimed at enhancing the security and scalability of the Zcash network. Based in Switzerland, Shielded Labs is a Zcash support organization funded by donations from Zcash holders and supporters. It operates independently from developer funds and block rewards, with donations dedicated to the long-term development of the protocol. Shielded Labs noted that this marks the second donation from Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who first contributed in 2023 to establish a team focused on Crosslink.
