Fireblocks Expands Support for Canton Network to Enhance Asset Custody

Crypto infrastructure firm Fireblocks has announced its integration with the Canton Network, enabling financial institutions to manage and settle assets on a privacy-focused blockchain tailored for regulated markets. According to Cointelegraph, this development facilitates the governed settlement of Canton Coin (CC) through Fireblocks’ platform and its New York Department of Financial Services–chartered trust entity. The initiative targets banks, custodians, and asset managers interested in tokenized securities, deposits, and other regulated instruments requiring private settlement and stringent controls. Financial institutions can now custody Canton Coin via Fireblocks, utilizing its enterprise policy controls and workflow automation for asset settlement on the Canton Network. Fireblocks also plays a crucial role in transaction validation and governance by operating a Super Validator on the network. The company has indicated plans to support additional Canton-based tokens and applications in the future. Fireblocks secures over $5 trillion in digital asset transfers annually and has facilitated more than $10 trillion in total transfers, serving over 2,400 organizations globally. The Canton Network, a permissioned blockchain developed by Digital Asset and governed by the Canton Foundation, has been witnessing a steady increase in institutional integrations, projected to continue through late 2025 and early 2026. In October, BitGo, a digital asset infrastructure provider, added support for Canton Coin, allowing U.S. banks and asset managers to custody the token via a qualified custodian. Subsequently, Franklin Templeton linked its Benji tokenization platform to the Canton Network, enabling tokenized assets, including its onchain US government money market fund, to be used for collateral and liquidity within Canton’s Global Collateral Network. In December, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to mint a subset of US Treasury securities on the Canton Network, with potential expansion to other assets. More recently, Temple Digital Group launched a private institutional trading platform on Canton, offering continuous, 24/7 trading through a central limit order book with a non-custodial structure. Canton Coin, the network’s native token, has seen a 31% increase in value over the past three months, reflecting the heightened activity on the network, as reported by CoinGecko.
