CME Group Plans Launch of South Asian Edible Oil Futures Contracts

CME Group has announced its intention to introduce four South Asian edible oil futures contracts on March 2, 2026, pending regulatory review. According to Jin10, the new cash-settled products will include two unilateral contracts: South Asian soybean oil (Fastmarkets) futures and South Asian crude palm oil (Fastmarkets) futures. Additionally, there will be two spread contracts: South Asian soybean oil (Fastmarkets) versus CBOT soybean oil futures spread contract and South Asian crude palm oil (Fastmarkets) versus USD-denominated Malaysian crude palm oil futures spread contract. These contracts will be based on Fastmarkets soybean CFR India and crude palm oil CFR India West Coast assessments. The South Asian edible oil futures contracts will be listed on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and will adhere to its regulations.
