Ethereum Foundation Grant Review Uncovers DPRK IT Workers in Crypto Projects

An Ethereum Foundation grant review has brought attention to Ketman, a project that identified approximately 100 active North Korean IT workers involved in 53 cryptocurrency projects. According to NS3.AI, Ketman reported that these operatives often use forged Japanese identification to obtain remote Web3 technology positions. To address this issue, Ketman is assisting cryptocurrency teams in creating interview-stage honeypots to identify and filter out these operatives.
