Czech National Bank's Bitcoin Reserve Strategy Defended by Governor

Czech National Bank Governor Aleš Michl has defended the bank's decision to allocate 1% of its reserves to Bitcoin, describing it as a conservative yet innovative approach. According to NS3.AI, Michl highlighted that the bank's research indicates a low long-term correlation between Bitcoin and traditional reserve assets. This strategy is expected to enhance returns in Czech Koruna terms without elevating overall portfolio risk. The bank currently manages approximately $180 billion in foreign exchange reserves, which is about 44% of the Czech Republic's GDP. Michl linked this move to a broader strategy that combines strict inflation control with calculated exposure to non-traditional assets.
