Malaysia's Sarawak State AI Research Center has signed a memorandum of understanding in Manchester, UK, to collaborate on green sovereign AI development. According to Foresight News, privacy AI company FLock.io has been designated as the sole technology partner for this initiative. FLock.io will focus on supporting the construction of national-level privacy-protecting AI infrastructure, enabling AI models to be trained and optimized at the data's location, thereby reducing the need for sensitive data to be uploaded or transferred across borders.
Previously, FLock.io conducted a large-scale localized distributed AI infrastructure deployment in Kuching, the capital of Sarawak State. Future collaboration agreements and discussions on sovereign AI development will continue in Cambridge and Oxford, further advancing discussions on AI policy, economic impact, governance, security, and trustworthy deployment.
