London-based AI recruitment platform Ethos has successfully raised $22.75 million in a Series A funding round, led by a16z with participation from General Catalyst. According to ChainCatcher, Ethos utilizes artificial intelligence to interview candidates and analyze their academic papers, code, and other professional content to create detailed skill profiles. The platform then matches experts with paid opportunities, including consulting, market research, AI data labeling, advisory services, and full-time positions. James Lo, co-founder and CEO of Ethos, emphasized that traditional resumes often fail to accurately reflect an individual's capabilities. Ethos aims to assist individuals in showcasing their complete professional skills in an AI-driven economy and help companies more precisely identify the talent they truly need. The platform addresses the challenges posed by the proliferation of false or AI-generated resumes and the difficulty in verifying candidates' actual abilities.
