According to CNBC, U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani on Thursday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from implementing President Donald Trump's executive order limiting mail voting, stalling the directive for two weeks as the legal fight over midterm ballot delivery continues. The ruling came after Democrats and voting rights groups refiled lawsuits following a recent Supreme Court procedural decision, and it follows the Postal Service's issuance of a formal rule governing when it will deliver states' mail ballots. Talwani said plaintiff states do not have enough time or money to redesign ballots, seek approval, update election systems, train officials and upload voter data before the midterms. The Postal Service says it will not deliver mail ballots unless states provide a list of voters who should receive them and format the envelopes in a specific way. A hearing in the case is set for Sept. 3.
