OpenAI Expands Presence In Asia With New Singapore Office

According to Odaily, OpenAI is establishing a team in Singapore to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence tools in the Asia-Pacific region. The new office is set to open by the end of this year. Additionally, OpenAI is collaborating with AI Singapore, a local artificial intelligence association. In a statement, OpenAI highlighted that Singapore has one of the highest per capita usages of ChatGPT globally. Earlier this year, OpenAI launched its first Asian office in Tokyo, Japan, to provide customized GPT-4 models for Japanese clients. Singapore has become a hub for several major American internet companies, including Google and Meta Platforms. These companies are also working together to build an undersea internet cable to facilitate faster communication between Singapore and the U.S. West Coast.
