Central Banks May Include Bitcoin and Gold in Reserves by 2030, Says Deutsche Bank

According to PANews, Deutsche Bank has suggested that central banks might incorporate Bitcoin and gold into their key reserves by 2030. This insight follows a Bloomberg report highlighting a shift in central bank strategies since the 2008 financial crisis, where they became net buyers of gold. Currently, global central banks hold over 36,000 tons of gold. Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar's share in global reserves has decreased from 60% in 2000 to 41% in 2025, leading to significant inflows into gold and Bitcoin ETFs, with $5 billion and $4.7 billion respectively recorded in June. The report emphasizes that digital assets should complement fiat currencies, clarifying that Bitcoin is not expected to replace the U.S. dollar. Additionally, JPMorgan estimates that stablecoins could generate an additional $1.4 trillion in U.S. dollar demand by 2027.
