CoinGecko, a leading independent cryptocurrency data aggregator, has unveiled two new mascots to commemorate its 11th birthday.
This new release also comes with major changes to its branding, which includes a modernized logo, vibrant color palette, and enhanced design elements across its main platform and DEX aggregator, GeckoTerminal.
The rebranding aims to refurbish its current look to create a more vibrant look while maintaining its long-term vision of being user-friendly, accessible and accurate in the crypto data it provides.
CoinGecko's CEO and co-founder, TM Lee, described the brand refresh as a step towards building for decentralized future, emphasizing that it reflects the evolving identity of the platform as a crypto companion for its user community.
CoinGecko has introduced two mascots, named Gekko and Rex. These two characters were deliberately designed to embody the key aspects of the crypto community. While Gekko represents a playful and dependent side, Rex is characterized as sharp and analytical, reflecting the innovation and resilient nature of crypto users.
CoinGecko was first founded in April 2014, and has evolved from a basic price tracker into one of the most comprehensive platforms for cryptocurrency data. The platform now monitors over 17,000 cryptocurrencies and NFTs across more than 1,200 exchanges and marketplace.
In recent years, Coin Gecko has expanded its services to the on-chain environment through its sister platform called Gecko Terminal, launched in 2022. The platform aggregates real-time data from over 1,500 DEXs across more than 200 blockchain networks. GeckoTerminal tracks more than 6 million tokens and offers real time data, aiming to support on-chain traders with detailed market insights.
