K-pop fans are turning their attention to “A-IDOL”, a new survival show that puts artificial intelligence at the heart of the idol-making process.
Among the six competing girl groups, ICHILLIN will step into the spotlight in what is being described as a next-generation entertainment format that merges real-world talent with virtual innovation.
Unlike traditional competition shows, “A-IDOL” is driven by an AI producer named LODIA-I, developed by NAVER Cloud and powered by HyperClova X.
This AI analyses pitch, rhythm, and choreography with high accuracy, offering personalised feedback to each group.
The goal is to push the limits of how technology can shape creative industries, particularly in K-pop, where performance quality and growth matter as much as fan appeal.
ICHILLIN is competing against CSR, woo!ah!, PURPLE KISS, LIGHTSUM, and DreamNote.
Together, they face a unique challenge—being evaluated not just by human standards but through a digital lens designed to provide unbiased assessments and tailored guidance.

The award recognises achievements in combining generative AI with cultural exports, celebrating how “A-IDOL” has already made an impact before its premiere.
The K-AI Awards are co-hosted by the Seoul Mobility Show Organising Committee and the Korea Generation AI Foundation (KGAF).
In 2025, the awards will feature six categories and select nine winners.
The event has expanded to include AI beyond mobility, now operating under the brand “Future Mobility Awards” in celebration of the Seoul Mobility Show’s 30th year.
Winners will receive prize money, plaques, and exposure opportunities such as discounted booths and participation in tech events.
They will also be recognised as official contributors to Korea’s global generative AI push.
According to Song Se-kyung, president of the KGAF,
“This ‘K-AI Awards’ is not just an award, but an innovation platform for the future and global leap forward of the Korean AI industry. We will create a sustainable creation AI ecosystem in which private, government, industry and academia cooperate.”
As “A-IDOL” prepares for broadcast, the show’s premise reflects a broader shift in how entertainment is produced and evaluated.
