Argentina President's Libra controversy
Just last month, Argentine President Javier Milei was placed under scrutiny after promoting the Solana-native Libra token.
Milei's endorsement initially caused the token's value to surge from nearly zero to $5, while the market capitalisation reach a whopping $4 billion.
But the hype was only temporary, and the token crashed shortly after, causing many investors to suffer huge financial losses in the process.
Enraged by the fact that the President endorsed a fraudulent coin, some are even calling for the impeachment of Javier. But the president has dismissed any wrongdoing and dismissed the rug-pull allegation, claiming he was just telling people about the project, but didn't ask anyone to really buy the coin.
