Hong Kong Securities Regulator Announces Transition to New Reporting Platform by 2026

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has announced that licensed corporations, virtual asset service providers licensed by the SFC, and related entities must transition to a new suspicious transaction reporting platform by February 2, 2026. According to Foresight News, this platform, known as the Second Generation Suspicious Transaction Report and Management System (STREAMS 2), will replace the current system to enhance automation and analytical capabilities, thereby improving the efficiency of analyzing suspicious transaction reports and disseminating financial intelligence. Starting February 2, 2026, STREAMS 2 will be the sole channel for submitting suspicious transaction reports. Licensed entities will be able to submit reports using XML format, specified PDF format, or online forms.
