Trump Announces Tariff Increase on South Korean Goods Amid Unapproved Agreement

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that the South Korean National Assembly has not fulfilled an agreement made with the United States. According to BlockBeats, Trump stated that he and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung reached a mutually beneficial agreement on July 30, 2025, which was reaffirmed during his visit to South Korea on October 29, 2025. Trump questioned why the South Korean National Assembly has yet to approve the agreement. Due to the lack of approval for the historic trade agreement, which falls under the authority of the South Korean National Assembly, Trump declared an increase in reciprocal tariffs on South Korean automobiles, timber, pharmaceuticals, and all other goods from 15% to 25%.
