Brazilian President Lula visited South Korea and held talks with President Lee Jae-myung, where both leaders agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a strategic partnership level. According to RTHK, the discussions took place at the Blue House in Seoul, resulting in the signing of a 'Four-Year Action Plan for Strategic Partnership' to guide development in political, economic, practical cooperation, and civil exchanges.
The two countries used this summit as an opportunity to sign 10 memorandums of understanding or agreements in areas such as small and medium enterprises, health, and agriculture. They also agreed to enhance cooperation in future industries, including space, defense, and aviation.
Regarding regional and international security, both nations agreed to maintain close communication, recognizing that peace on the Korean Peninsula has significant implications for peace in Northeast Asia and globally. President Lee stated that South Korea would strive to restart dialogue and cooperation with North Korea, aiming for a future of peaceful coexistence and mutual development.
