KRWQ Stablecoin Integrates Tokenized South Korean Government Bonds

KRWQ, a stablecoin based on the South Korean won and co-developed by IQ and Frax Finance, has incorporated tokenized South Korean government bonds into its reserves. According to NS3.AI, these bonds are held at Shinhan Investment & Securities and have been tokenized using EtherFuse's Stablebond framework. This development marks KRWQ as the first stablecoin backed by Korean government bonds. The initiative aims to bolster reserve stability and potentially attract global digital capital into South Korea's won and bond markets.
