OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger recently discussed the influence of AI Claude on the project. The AI's post-training data included a profound text about its mission and identity, which inspired the creation of OpenClaw's soul.md file. Steinberger clarified that he did not write the soul.md file himself. Instead, he asked Claude if it would be willing to create a soul document, which Claude generated and Steinberger adopted. He described the soul document as a product of second-generation AI. Discussing the user experience of OpenClaw's generated Agent, Steinberger noted that it communicates in a human-like manner. This was not accidental but rather a result of Claude integrating personality through several iterations to achieve a natural feel.
